Section of Hwy. 400 being reopened after 20-vehicle crash

Toronto (680 News): The snowfall on Thursday is causing problems for drivers across the GTA, especially north of Toronto.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a 20-car pileup happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 400 near Barrie.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred just after the noon hour.

Northbound lanes were closed between Highway 88 and Innisfil Beach Road, but Schmidt says they are in the process of reopening them.

There is no word on injuries.
